This is a performance and results driven role, we are looking for candidates with experience growing a brand’s social presence, audience and reach using social media and influencer / creator content marketing.
You should possess a knack for problem-solving, strategic thinking, and have a strong aptitude for research to excel in this role. Our team is dedicated and thrives on coordinated collaboration. The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously is crucial. If you prefer tackling projects or tasks one at a time, this position might not be the best fit for you.
The Role: As a Content Strategist, you’ll be managing our content creation, written, video and audio, focusing on showcasing our products and telling our brand stories.
Dynamic Job Responsibilities: Our job description isn’t etched in stone because this role is brand new. We need someone who’s adaptable and ready to learn on the go. You’ll be exploring various content sources, from YouTube to podcasts, to explore the latest and most innovative content strategies, tools and techniques.
Team Player: You’ll work closely with our video editor, catalog manager, production manager, and project manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Adapt Product Descriptions: Collaborate with the catalog manager to transform product descriptions and feature/benefit lists into versatile content for various media. This includes crafting scripts for product explainer videos, creating visual callouts for infographics, and adapting written copy for social media posts. The goal is to maintain consistency in messaging while tailoring the content to fit different formats, ensuring that the product’s key selling points are clearly communicated across multiple platforms.
- Social Media Captions: Craft captions for social media posts, ensuring that they are not only engaging but also relevant to the target audience and product being showcased.
- Video Scripts: Currently, we have two video types – videos where the person in the video is speaking/talking either in voiceover or on camera and videos where the voiceover is created by AI. Your role will be to help build these scripts for both creators and voiceovers. You’ll be using AI to assist with output, but you must be experienced in prompting, editing and understanding culture, tone and appropriateness.
- AI Audio Creation: You’ll us AI tools to create audio (voiceovers) when needed. You’ll need to develop a good ear for understanding if the generated audio has proper pronunciation, pausing and emotional inflection.
- AI Storyboarding/Concept Development: At times, you will use AI to create visual storyboards for content, to communicate concepts, product staging and video staging to guide our creators.
- Talent Scouting: Monitoring social media, freelance websites, and other sources to find talent that could be appropriate for our products and brands. You’ll also be responsible for the initial outreach and gathering rate/fee information.
- Content Research: Researching different strategies, skills and technique for developing brand and product content. Cataloging content angles for future use, proposing strategies to use in creator videos or voiceover videos. Working with the video editor to polish video concepts.
- Content Library: We have a content library where we store interesting posts/videos from other brands. We use this content library to help us understand what could work for our products/brand. You will catalog content in this library as well as save/download interesting content that you find, for inclusion in this library (baserow database).
Daily / Weekly Goals and Responsibilities
- Manage our content calendar, and database, and production ensuring that work flows smoothly and deadlines are met.
- Collaborate with our video editor to provide verbiage and on-screen callout information for product videos. Review ouput for adherence to SOPs and brand guidelines and manage editing and publishing of content.
- Research and develop scripts for videos, whether for creators or voiceovers.
- Work with Project Manager, Video Editor and Ecommerce Manager to ensure content is being produced and published efficiently, review content for potential edits or rewrites/reshoots.
- Curate content for content library and ensure content library is up to date and well organized for easy reference.
- Assist with talent/creator scouting as needed.
- Additional tasks as needed.
AI Tools
In this role, you will be expected to use AI daily, to assist with content development. In using AI, you will be expected to learn how to best use the tools to generate usable output, but most importantly you will be expected to develop the skill to understand where and how to edit AI content to make it usable.
